Changes to Google

Google is making one of the biggest changes in its history by transforming Search into a more conversational, AI-powered experience. Instead of relying only on short keyword searches, users will now be able to ask longer, more detailed questions, continue with follow-up prompts, and even complete tasks like creating event invitations directly from the search experience. The update also expands Google’s existing AI Mode and AI Overviews, signaling a major shift in how the company wants people to interact with its products.

The announcement, made at Google’s annual I/O event, highlights how central artificial intelligence has become to the company’s future. Google says the new tools will deliver richer and more personalized responses, including visual aids like charts for complex topics and new ways to search using images in Chrome. While the company’s earlier AI search features faced criticism for occasional misinformation, this latest rollout shows Google is moving forward aggressively with its vision that the future of Search is deeply tied to AI.

It should still be treated with skepticism and users will need to verify and double-check responses to be safe, but it may be helpful to many users.
